Week 45: Going, Going, Gone! (week 36th on the field)

Hey again,    So the reason I set the title as Going, Going, Gone! is because Elder Pauperio is leaving.  He was sure going this transfer.  We improved efforts so much since last transfer, and we've definitely seen tons of miracles.  I get a new companion, but I still haven't received the transfer call yet, so I don't know what to expect.  All I know is that I'm supposed to head to Kagoshima to drop off Elder Pauperio so he can go to Fukuoka by tomorrow morning.  We are taking the boat again... that's another 12 hour trip (I have the round trip so that's 24 hours for me).  Plus, we leave tonight, get into Kagoshima tomorrow morning (Wednesday), Elder Pauperio leaves to go to the Fukuoka Elders' apartment, and I stay in Kagoshima--I think--till transfers on Thursday.  I will probably then do the same thing that Elder Pauperio and I did last transfer week and stay over till Friday, ride back and come home on Saturday.  It wil...

Week 44: Busy Sunday & Full of Miracles

Image
Hey,    This week we got reactivated a returning member!!!! Woo!!! I'm glad we're being watched over by the Lord. He truly does show us results when we put our energy in 100%. We've been putting in the work! This past week we saw a huge miracle! We went to visit a Returning member since they came to church the previous Sunday but left right after taking the sacrament so we went to say that we loved seeing her at church and probably end there and go home. When we got to her house, we were surprised to find out that it was her Birthday... too bad we didn't have anything to give--BUT, she was struggling with a couple things and we asked her if she wanted a blessing and she accepted. So, Elder Pauperio and I tried our best to give a blessing of healing with the stuff we knew in English but the entire blessing was done in Japanese so I hope that even though we may had made errors that it counts in heaven... hehe... I bet it does.     We also had our Brazilian Cooki...

Week 43: Happy Mother's Day! (week 34th on the field)

Heyyy,      It's Mother's Day, so I just want to make a quick shout out to the best mom in the world--MY MOM!  I've come to really cherish everything my mom has done for me.  She and my dad prepared me for this wonderful experience.  My mom has been with me through tough times and times when I feel like I'm down and out.  My mom is the best mom ever!  She is so smart!  She is so loving! She is so GOOD at cooking!  She's so virtuous! She's so hard-working!  She is such a good role model since she truly is quick to observe.  I love how much she has taught me.  I totally appreciate the fact that she is SUPER GOOD AT ENGLISH!  After being around not so good English, I can say her English is so much better than I gave her credit for.  This Mother's day, although I'm not with her, I truly send my love to her 7200+ miles away.  Love you mom!     This week, I got t...

Week 42: A Not Really Surprising Surprise (week 33rd on the field)

Image
Oh, Hello there! It's me again,    So the not really surprising surprise was that Elder Pauperio is actually dying this transfer.  He was trying to get me super surprised by being like "When we go to Kagoshima, I'll tell you my BIG secret," and I was stating off random things like "You have an extra toe, you have multiple personalities, you have a weird hidden talent, you're secretly really good at magic..." stuff like that.  Well, while we were on Junkai's (Splits) with the Miyakonojo Elders and the Miyazaki Elders, we had Indian curry together, and right after we finished eating our food, Elder Pauperio pulls up his flight plans and shows them to me. He's leaving on the 31st of this month.  The reason why it wasn't a surprise was because (1) he was going on and on about this "could" be his last time in Kagoshima so he "NEEDS" to go shopping for souvenirs for his family, (2) he stated the week before that ...
