Week 10: First Week in the Field: It's essentially EFY

Image
Hey y'all     So for this week, there has been a lot of stuff going on.  First, I left the MTC on Tuesday, September 18th.  That was sad, but it was amazing that all of our MTC Zone came to see us off.  They all woke up at 2 am to see us off.  I miss them already.  Then, I boarded a plane to LA then Tokyo  then Fukuoka. It was sad seeing my district mates go.  We got to Tokyo and pretty much dispersed.  I can't wait to see them at the district reunion!!!  So Sister Gallarde and I are "The last survivors."  We got placed in the same area. I'm on the Island of Okinawa in a town called  Urasoe. It's  super hot here, and they don't get a winter so...yeah.    My new companions name is Elder Uhlig.  He is from Germany.  It's been great to get to know him. He's an awesome trainer.  On the first day, he was super nice and even brought me an ice cream. We waited in Hakata Staton where I was able to ...

Week 9: 4 days left!

Hey y'all,     I've got 4 days left (well, I count days by the day after… hahaha … you could sense my excitement, couldn’t you?!) here at the MTC .   I can't wait to go to Japan but I'm going to be so sad when I have to leave my beloved district.  They're awesome people, and I just love them all to death! Well, it's all good though since we're already planning a district reunion in Hawaii (Elder Tani's home state).  I can't believe I've been in the MTC for 9 weeks.  It's crazy to think about it.  It felt like just yesterday that I just came into the MTC and met Elder Lee.  It's been a bumpy ride, but we've gotten through it.  Honestly, I am so cut off from the world, and it is SO nice.  I don't have to worry about the millions of problems I had to deal with before my mission.  I can just focus on our Savior, Heavenly Father, and the people in Japan.  It fee...

Week 8: Inching Forward

Image
Hey y'all,     So, funny moment first. Lee ちょうろう/Choro (Elder) ripped his pants today.  He was in his suit that is in the picture of both him and I, and he was flipping a coin (since he likes doing that).  His suit pants are pretty tight but he could still fit in them so he went with them.  His other suit was at the dry cleaners, and we were going to the temple so he wore a suit--like we always do.  He dropped a coin, and bent down to pick it up.  When he squatted maybe 2 inches, riiiippppp!!!  There went his pants.   the rip was about 6 inches down the back of his pants.  It was so funny —sorry, Elder Lee!  He was covering his backside the entire way back to the residency so he could change.  As soon as we have him change, we took pictures. That is whe isn't in the suit in the group pic.     We're so close to leaving the MTC.  It'll be so sad to leave my awesome district and companion.  The bond that we...
