Week 30: Base is regular occurrence now (week 21st in the field)

Hey,

Yep, base is a regular occurrence now.  This past week, we talked to one of the chaplains on base and are now allowed to set up activities.  Elder Larsen and I are now thinking of things we can do on base.  We've planned a lot this week.  The idea that we are most keen on doing on base is holding a 12 steps to addiction recovery group for marines.  The mission president, President Mack, thinks it's a good idea and is full for it.  We're also trying to get the youth in our ward to get more involved and gain a eternal and everlasting conversion by trying to run our own Family Home Evenings at the church on Monday nights.  For those of you who are unfamiliar of our church, we are very family-oriented.  Since the most basic unit in this church is the family, that should be where the majority of the teaching and learning should be.  Family Home Evening is a time given on Monday nights for families to gain a better relationship with one another and grow closer to our Savior, Jesus Christ.  There are many purposes for missionaries, but 1 HUGE aspect we work on is trying to bring families closer together--after all, we are with them for eternity.

This week was also zone conference so each of us, missionaries, got together to come up with ways we can help strengthen our ministering efforts and bring people closer to Christ.  This week's focus was on planning and orienting ourselves in the right path.  Since planning is such an important aspect in anyone's life, it's not something that we can skip out on either.
After zone conference, my entire zone went out to eat. There was this really yummy place called Gordie's.  It's probably one of the best burgers you can get in Japan.  I had the Pineapple bacon cheese burger... oh, it was SO yummy.
By the way, I just thought of something this week.  Everyone that was here from 1st transfer (Minus Sister Gallarde) has left.  Little by little, new people came in until suddenly everyone leaves... maybe I'm next😬  Mah, new faces = new friends, right?  I'm already getting used to all the new faces anyway.  By the time I realize it, we'd be super tight and one of us would be out of here...
Miss you all. Take care.
