Week 21: And the Transfer call is... (Week 12 on the field)
Hey,
So, we got transfer calls today... and the Transfer call is... (dram roll!!!) to stay
is OKINAWA!!!
My companion will be the same and I'll have the same area! I'm so glad! I'm in my same area for 3 transfers! Elder Uhlig is the best! We've planned the whole transfer so if either of us were transferred, that would've messed up a bunch of things. After all, we've got 3 gigs together in the next month. Elder Uhlig plays the cello and I play the violin, so we've been invited to play at the ward Christmas party, the special Christmas sacrament meeting that the church is doing on the 23rd, and playing for the children of a daycare center. So many ways of sharing our talents. I'm so glad I'm staying!

Last p-day we had zone p-day. I didn't write about it because I didn't have the pictures but now I do. Everyone in Okinawa came down to Urasoe for our zone P-day. Elder Uhig planned the whole thing. We went to the sports park and played capture the flag along with ultimate Frisbee. It was such a fun time running around and playing competitive games together. We ate pizza, got kicked out of an area because a bunch of elderly people came and said they reserved the area for Okinawan golf (Or something of that sort). The teams were the Naha zone (My zone) and the Ginowan Zone. Naha Zone is the best so we obviously destroyed the Ginowan Zone. Elder Palu kept trying to tackle me in Ultimate Frisbee. One play, the frisbee was up high so I jumped to grab it, and he just rammed into me like it was a hospital pass in rugby. It was a fine bump but nothing too hard as to send me to the ground. I still grabbed the frisbee so that's all that really matters. Hahaha. Elder Palu is such an interesting character. I love that man. He's so fun. We've bonded these past 5 weeks, and I'll miss him when he goes to Kagoshima (Up in kyushu). I, being a "Wilson", am always competitive. Whenever there is anything somewhat competitive, I give it my all. Dendo (Missionary work) is obviously different seeing that competition causes people to think their either superior or inferior. This is a mission of Love. Competition is also a sign of being prideful. And as President Ezra Taft Benson once said "Pride is enmity". The opposite of pride is humility, and it is humility that drives the work along. Humility is not weakness. People seem to think that these days, but humility is actually strength. Be thou humble!!
I'll miss a bunch of the missionaries here. Many of them are transferring out of Okinawa. 8 areas are closing and 11 areas are whitewashing. With the decreasing number of missionaries, the Fukuoka mission is shrinking. It's been an interesting ride here in Okinawa. Full of sun and Full of amazing people. We don't have snow but we do get rain showers. I'm not sure what else to write about... I'm running out of content. Sorry for the short post but that's all folks.
Love you all,
