Week 41: Rain or Shine (the 32th week on the field)
ヤッホー、 (Yahho!/ Yoo Hoo... maybe in English??)
We've had down pours of rain this week but also have had really sunny
days. Let me tell you, when it rains, it pours! I've inserted a video of how
bad it was. We went around with our Branch Mission Leader and drove hours to
visit members who live far away from the church. When we started, the rain was
a light sprinkle, but by the end, it seemed as if all of the ocean was being
thrown on top of us. The streets were covered in so much water, and it felt as if
we were driving through a river. Today it is raining as well, and Elder Pauperio
and I are supposed to head to Kagoshima for Zone Conference, taking a 12 hour
boat ride, but I hope the boat isn't delayed or our plans would be wrecked
(rekt for all of you teens).
Elder Pauperio is super fun to be with. We've tried to make the best we
can with just 2 people in isolation, and I think it is working. We haven't
laughed more. He likes Naruto, a Japanese TV Anime so we talk about that every now and then. I wish
I had watched it more but before the mission, James (my brother) went ahead and
watched episodes ahead of me so I sadly stopped (Still love you James 😉--We'll
watch more anime when I get back). I found out that Elder Pauperio
"dies" or goes home in 2 transfers (the same time Elder Uhlig goes
home). I wonder how those 2 transfers will be, I feel like we'll be together
for 2 but also there is a chance that he transfers out to train in his last
transfer... we shall see.
I received an Easter package from my family this week and as usual, I took a
picture of and with the contents. bIt was really nice to get snacks but I
already ate all of it this week...hahaha... of course, I shared some with Elder
Pauperio as I do with everyone of my companions.
Also, we had this 15 year old girl come to English Class--That's rare
since everyone else is a grandpa or grandma. She invited us to come to her orchestra concert and we went to show our support. It was a community orchestra
and they had nice pieces for all of us... they even took time out to share with
the crowd what each instrument was and what they individually sound like. They
invited people to come and dance at the front, sing along to songs, and was a
lot of fun. I'm glad to see families spending time together in their busy lives. We went up afterwards and congratulated the high schooler on her performance, and she was glad we came. Maybe with more work, we can get her to be interested
in the gospel.
愛してまーす!(A-I-Shi-Te-I-Ma-Su or Love you all!)
