Week 38: Okinawa Temple, BABY!!! WOOOOO!! (the 29th week on the field)

Hey,
We're getting a temple in Okinawa everyone!  I woke up this morning to find out that it was announced by our beloved Prophet, President Russell M. Nelson.  I'm so excited!  I've spent 7.5 months in Okinawa, and have seen the hand of the Lord many many times.  One thing that I can never forget from now until eternity is the fact that I served in a land which I LOVE which came to have an announcement for a Temple WHILE I was serving here.  Not only am I super glad to be here for 5 transfers (8 months), I've been able to experience 2 General Conference sessions and both of them have had major world-shattering news.  I'm glad to be a pioneer in this "Bring a temple to Okinawa" plan.  This morning was crazy... let me tell you. We woke up and Elder Larsen quickly got out of bed to check if there were any major announcements... but he didn't find any so we did our regular routine.  Since we were in Naha for the night.  Elder Feddock checked his tablet to see THE ANNOUNCEMENT.  All of us, Elders, were jumping up and down, cheering, calling other missionaries, and even telling members the exciting news.  What a great morning!

Elder Larsen was sick this week so from Thursday to Sunday night, we were inside the whole time.  We even had to miss church because of how bad he felt, sadly.  The thing is, we don't know what he has.  All we know is that he felt super hot all over his body and had little stamina.  We couldn't even walk around our block without him stopping to take a break.  The good thing from this is that I had the opportunity to have an extended personal study and an extended language study.  I think he is okay now but I'll check how he is in a couple minutes.

Going back further in my week, last P-day, Elder Larsen got his steroid injections for his legs (Whelp, There goes professional baseball...jkjk) to strengthen them.  He had an injury on both knees before the mission as a quarterback of his high school football team so he got both of his knees steroid injected before the mission.  But the effects of it wore off so he went and got it redone.  His knees feel better at least.  We went on base to get him treated and then after that, a Senior Missionary couple took us out to food, and we drove over to Hacksaw ridge.
I didn't know this, but this place is 5 minutes from our apartment.  It was really beautiful.  We'll probably go again.

So today's activity, I remember a game from when I was in Deacon's quorum (12-13y/o) called Gladiator.  I remember this game vividly.  There are teams, 1 is on the stage and 1 is on the gym floor.  The gym floor is decked out with guards (Tipped over tables) and the floor looks like an arena.  Then, there is a singular chair right before the stage. The main goal of the people on the floor is to get to the chair without getting hit but if they get hit, they go back to the start. I explained this game to Elder Larsen about 2 weeks ago and he was fully on board to do this game as a zone p-day.  This will be a great time.

Anyway, love you all!
