Week 32: Kylo ren? What do you say? (Week 23 on the field)

Hey,
Yesterday, I was greeting people at the door of the church and there is this one 1/2 family and they're in in the other ward in our church building.  This boy, I forgot his name, came and said hi and went inside of the chapel.  Then I said hi to his sister and she said hi back and went into the chapel.  Then, about a minute later, the boy came back out and said "my sister says that you look like kylo ren!" then he walked back inside the chapel.  The funny thing is, people have said that I look like Kylo Ren, the son of Han Solo from Star War, multiple times since I've been in Japan.  What do you guys think?

I set up the entire day to Dendo in Yonabaru area, and this is a huge area... but the area had been closed because of a lack in missionaries as well as the toughness of the hills.  Well, I spent 2 weeks putting together this "project," and we accomplished our goal.  Essentially, what my project was, was to go to Nishihara township and go visit ALL of the members over there.  Even though getting new friends to church is important, keeping the sheep inside of the group is another one.  I put together 24 bags of candy and we went around and gave them out to these members, telling them "we love and miss you".  We got tons of smiles and the members were so glad we went to visit them.  We then ate Yakiniku (a Korean style grilled meat) while discussing what we found out.
Missionary work is so fun! It's not just about going out and proselytizing, but it's about the small and simple things.  It's about setting an example for what you know is right.  Saying your morals are not enough, living them is the idea that brings salvation.  God has given us a commandment to "serv[e] your fellow men" by doing this, our love spreads to all the earth. Missionary work can be inviting friends to your home and getting them to listen to the missionary discussions or even a quick service activity with a prayer before and after you've given it your all.  The only way is to try.  Like Forest Gump's mamma says "Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get!"  Press forward with faith. I love you all.

Sincerely,

Elder Jacob Wilson
