Week 29: The rise of the bike problems (Week 20 in the field)

Hey,
This week was a reminder of week 1 in the field.  I gained a new companion; I experience new ways to Dendo, new ways to go throughout my day, new activities, new joys, and new perspectives.  Elder Larsen and I are doing really well.  Things are coming around but then, do you all remember what happened my first 6 weeks?  My bike had many problems and some things broke (*cough cough* my back tire) but sure enough this past week, it had problems again.
The attachment for my basket to my bike broke as I was riding to an activity and we just stuck the basket and everything next to a random building and continued on.  I bought a new one the next day and Elder Larsen noticed that my tires were flat so he pumped them up for me.  He looked at the PSI and went along with it till it seemed good (and it was) but yesterday I was riding from the church to a lesson we set with a potential teaching candidate, but my tire popped and so we couldn't go, sadly.  It's okay though, we had a spare bike at our apartment and I'm using this until I can get back and fix it.  It should be okay.  Really.  You guys may think "aw, poor thing" or "a mission seems rough" but actually, it's alright.  The other bike is a miracle/blessing though!!  Everyday I've seen a miracle or 3.  It's great being able to serve the Lord because even if there are hardships, he'll provide a way to accomplish our mission and help us gather people and bring them closer to Him.

A lot of this week was planning.  Before making big results, planning is necessary.  This isn't just some gospel related mumbo jumbo, but it's something that everyone can apply.  In order to accomplish a goal, a good planning is necessary.  We planned out how we'd apply missionary work in different aspects most people wouldn't think of.  We planned out where we'd Dendo. We planned out who we'd visit.  As soon as we wake up and get ready, the first thing we do is plan.  My day feels much more productive when we plan out the day.  I feel assured that what I'm doing has a purpose and it helps me see what I've accomplished in my day.

On base last week, I had the opportunity to look around and found a Pizza Hut, Subway, and a Taco Bell in this base just a street down from our apartment.  The commissary is sadly closed on Monday so we can't go grocery shopping, but there is a store next door that sells other items. Elder Larsen and I then got sodas and drinks.  It was the first time I've stepped in "America" since September and it was a great feeling.

Love you all, Good luck this week!
